Inflation Garden 2024 Week 15
Week 15 already. After that burst of cucumbers 2 weeks ago, nothing but a weird one. It may be because the heat has cranked up.
The tomatoes, at least the small ones, are starting to show up now and should be on the table sometime this week.

Happy Easter everyone! Things are starting to heat up in the inflation garden. Cucumbers, small tomatoes, and big tomatoes are all growing fast. I can see I'll need to thin them out soon. I also need to figure out something to support the vines. If you saw last years inflation garden you'll know I had sticks screwed to the side of the garden but that didn't really work well. I'll come up with s...
Inflation Garden 2024 Week 1

I just got my inflation garden started for this year. I've scaled it back a little this year due to, you guessed it, inflation... LOL. No really because I had all kinds of things growing last year and lost control with buckets here and there, what did I water, what did I miss and so on. The plan this year is to focus on these 3 items. And the updates will come every 2 weeks from here on, right ...
Outdoor Light Fixture 7 Years After Repainting

Ok, not everyone is asking about this light fixture... But for anyone who is curious how my paint job has held up over the last 7 years, this video will answer your questions. I am pleased with how it has done. I am in a high heat and humidity location with the occasional hurricane and it still looks like it did when I repainted them 7 years ago. 🔴 Please Subscribe to the HWDsouthDIY channel by...
No Conduit No Problem

Yes, no conduit or flex was used for this circuit but that is only part of problem with my friend's a/c circuit. Watch until the end to see what I consider to be the biggest, and most dangerous part of this circuit. If any electricians (or anyone who's done some wiring) are watching, let me know in the comments where you think this rates on a scale of 1 -10, with 10 being the worst wiring you h...

The inflation garden continues to produce. I was concerned how it would do in this heat. The tomatoes don't seem to mind the heat but everything else seems to either have problems. I don't know if it's the heat but the zucchini hasn't put out a decent one in awhile now. I don't see any bugs and the leaves look ok... The cucumber had a burst a couple of weeks ago and now it just has one, the pla...

Well it's almost the 4th of July and the inflation garden is really starting to produce now. I had nice cucumbers last week and it looks like more are on the way. I got rid of those bad zucchinis from last week. Hopefully that was just due to all the rain we had. No rain this week, just heat. Can the inflation garden take it? Homemade Solar Panel Mount For 4x4 Post
Lol 😆 🤣 😂
First of all, thank you for this video! For those of you who may have a similar leak like the one on 7:15 in the video (water coming above the tire), your end of the drain tube may be disconnected and could be leaking to your floorboard. We were able to fix this by accessing the end of the plastic drain tube for each side by going to the car's floorboard (underneath the foot mats and getting underneath that - removing the lining hard plastic that was holding it down) and reconnecting the plastic tube to it's hard end. This allowed the water to safely run from to sunroof and down the intended channel which the on at the 7min mark. Thanks again for the video! Saved me a ton on potential repair costs!
Thanks for this video I tried clearing the blockage with a wire, however, I guess i dislodged a seal somewhere and now the water is leaking from the pillar. I have no way to find out where this seal is and how to access it. I would suggest people to be very gentle when using the wire method to clear it. In my opinion, the other option to access and remove the filter under the wiper trims would be more safer.
Will this kill the tree?
😂😂😂😂😂 Too funny
2020 tacoma; Mine took 15min of blowing, but small controlled sucking without getting crud into mouth worked finally. Since Kamala gets 200K/yr for life - maybe we can just have ol' heels up do this as a service to the American people.
Good way to kill a tree.
Yall are some goofballs
Where does the line connect at on the inside??
I was advised to do this at work as non toxic from workers coming in from the mill. The only way I found this worked was to apply muscel and it worked but letting baking soda do the work I found it needed alot help from me rubbing area. Thank goodness only few spots. Did not use vinigar. Again it was only spots from boots. I am looking at for a way on a project to clean and would not be spots, it will be interesting as i can see me brushing and brushing.
I'm going to test a patch except I'm going to throw down vinegar instead of water.
Thank you for the video. Worked like a charm!!
Glad it helped!
I thought of using baking soda and vinegar for front door landing. And decided to look it up in RUclips Thanks
Thanks for watching!
2017 Rogue and I have the same problem
I think every Rogue owner with a sun roof has this problem unfortunately...
has this tree fallen yet since then?
It was destroyed by a hurricane a few years after I made the video.
I'm considering a similar approach, but I'm wondering how the tree is doing 6 years later. Has it had any health issues as a result of this method?
It was healthy until the hurricane got it.
New construction. Our basement flooded, leaving thick layer of red clay dried on the concrete floor for over 1 year. My father removed a layer using a hand scraper. I shop-vac'd behind him. My brother and I then used scrub brushes, soap + water, sponges, removing a good deal of clay, but much of it still remained... Finally, after researching some DIY tips, I tested three similar areas of the clay, using: (1.White vinegar (2.Vinegar + Baking soda (3.Hydrogen peroxide The plain, white vinegar was the clear winner; removing all the remainder of the clay. I allowed the vinegar to sit for 15 minutes before using scrub brush + sponge to clean. Initially, my father suggested using a pressure washer, (which we did try)... but we were only able to remove about a foot (a literal 12-inch ruler size) of clay before having to take 30sec-1min of shop-vacing the area from water overflow..... Plus, using a shop-vac inside this space seemed reckless imo. All this said, I'm always looking for a natural/organic method to get the job done before using chemicals... I see people recommending muriatic acid or (this other product with Tetrafluoroborate in the ingredient list)... Fine if you need to get the job done fast..... but otherwise, I'd rather not be breathing bleach/etc. or dumping some daft thing into the environment; some basic ass cleaning vinegar did the trick.
Good to know. I wonder if that 30% vinegar would be the real winner? I've seen it at the big box store but it's much more expensive than the regular strength. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the video! I had the exact same issue. Earlier I was told it was the cowl drain and cleaned it only to have another leak from the blower fan while driving home.
Glad it helped and thanks for watching.
Good idea friend
Thanks and thanks for watching.
Exhausting comments
It was an exhausting problem...
Thank you , helped me , all fixed now .
Glad it helped
What does the bleach do to the grass?
Turns it brown for a few days. In this video though no grass was harmed, only weeds. Thanks for watching
I have pine tree roots that give me a hard time when I cut the grass every year , I'm going to try this, didn't want to pay somebody a ton of money to come out and grind them down thanks for the video I don't mind a little hard work😊
I have not tried it on pine roots, hopefully they shave off easily like these did. Thanks for watching.
FYI the nylon gear is a replaceable part. We replace the entire shaft with the steel gear shaft and nylon gear for around 125.00 in our area.
If I had a more expensive opener I might have looked into a repair. The new one I purchased didn't cost much more than that, but it was before covid made prices go crazy...
I searched google with key words & even forums and could find no solutions. I put a few key words in youtube and found your video. This was the solution I was looking for and exactly the issue I was having. You probably saved me a few hundred bucks & my time. Thank You for taking the time to make a video like this.
Glad it worked for you and thanks for watching.
Saved me from mounting a D-day operation with my 16 Tacoma. Thanks for the video!
Glad it helped!
After washing my car, I use tire shine on. I realized it leaves perfect white spots on concrete for a long time.🤷♂️
Saw this video after the fact. That "shoulda just stayed in bed" hit real hard.
LOL it was the truth! Thanks for watching
I have the same issue for the last 4 years , is anyway we can sue Nissan ? Mi e is 2015 too .
I wish we could but they have some deep pockets to pay the lawyers.
I learned from your video and threw my floor cleaning solution (orange oil and bleach) onto the concrete porch for a few weeks. Its noticeably brighter. I may aplly bleach uniformly in an insect sprayer to minimize waste and get an even coat
Good luck with it and thanks for watching
hydrogen peroxide is magic
I will have to try that sometime. You think it's better than bleach?
not a bad idea. some of these fence posts mounts are more expensive than the panels themselves.
That's what I ran into and decided to make this. Thanks for watching
I wish I had recorded it. You have one behind the rear tire jack lower left of the jack. On the right side, I had to unsnap the lower inside panel and also removed the rear and right door seals. I removed the rear floorboard basically everything above the spare tire. I pryed that panel away a little without removing it. I placed a piece of wood to hold that panel open enough to get an arm into the rear side and pulled the hose off. It was clogged to hell. Once I cleared it, I poured water down both drain inlets and it worked just fine. I jammed a small screwdriver into the check valve and made a permanent hole so the water coming down flows freely like it is supposed to do. Like I said, I now wish that I had recorded it because I feel Nissan messed up big time.
It's insane that you have to go through all of that, I'm not even going to try. From the amount of people having trouble with these cars, its obvious they should have had a recall long ago. One thing for sure, I will never buy a vehical with a sunroof again. Thanks for the info and for watching.
I use pole lopper to trim the top, and gas hedge trimmer to shave the sides as uniform, and far in as possible. Finally privacy from the neighboring apt complex! Have some 50ft trying to figure out how to safely top em. Blocking sunlight in the winter months.
Yes, these things grew like crazy. I've turned a couple into a nice 12ft tall hedge on the side of the house.
This is good for the front drains. This is what I did. I removed the hood, wipers and plastic cover under the wipers. I drilled out the check value so it should drain without getting clogged. Moving forward, I will use the weed wacker wire to find the front drain and then insert a straw to blow it out with my compressor. The rear is located next to the spare tire jack. Pull it and blow compressed air in that hose. Save yourself $1500. Just the rear is $850. Quote from Nissan
I never could find the rear one. Thanks for the info!
Bleach is poisonous to the envirinment. Don't use it outdoors.
you lost me at the start- when you said you connectd the frame to the jbox??? t
The white circular ring (I called a frame) that attaches to the junction box.
That door is still loud! You need a belt drive with some nylon rollers.
I agree 100% My neighbor has one and you barely hear it. Thanks for watching
I appreciate this. I’m not sure if allowing the baking soda mixture to dry had any detrimental effect or not. I wonder if a Borax powder mix would do anything.
Don't know but I think it would probably do better than the baking soda. Thanks for watching
Lmfao...we've all been there.. so i can totally relate. Thanks for the chuckle
No problem, thanks for watching.
maybe you should have added some water and agitated the dish soap after you poured it on? At least the color impact would have been uniform across the bench, and we could have seen it's cleaning effect.
Possibly but I doubt it would have been a better outcome than the bleach. Thanks for watching
Thanks for sharing I’m trying to remove an oil spot on our driveway and I was thinking of doing this same thing but now I know it doesn’t work.
I've heard that Tide or dishwashing soap may help with that but have not tried it myself. Thanks for watching!
You have take off front glass under plastic and there are two water way for take out water coming from sunroof. We got that problem 2017 nissan x trail and when we opened to front glass's under plastic.
Hello, thank you very much for the video, what is the name of that kind of cutting shovel with which you lift the root before using the saber saw? Thank you very much, greetings from Spain.
I had a regular spade shovel. Maybe you mean the digger bar? It's the long metal bar with the edge on end, I don't know the "official" name for it but I've called them digger bars for as long is I've used them.
Same problem exactly as described - fix worked great, straw including. Thanks for sharing!
Glad it helped!
What is the name of the tools?
A hammer and an ax. Thanks for watching!
Hi, can u kindly post a link of the particular ax u use?@HWDsouthDIY
This is it, or close to it since I bought mine years ago. www.homedepot.com/p/Fiskars-X7-1-4-lb-Hatchet-Camping-Axe-with-14-in-Shock-absorbing-Handle-378501-1004/202681690
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you! Instant Fix. Now what caused the sticky weather stripping to begin with I wonder? Only had the issue on one of the doors.
I'm not sure what caused it, maybe the oil used on the door rollers or something caused a reaction with the stripping. Have not cleaned mine since making this video and it's still fine...
same issue, i live in Arizona so the strip gets hot and stick as well, i just put some wd40 on the strips and it works fine now. not sure what after effects are of wd40 but we will see. however , your video helped me out , thanks for posting.
No problem, glad it helped.
Oh my god I have greased this door in every imaginable place and this was my problem. Cleaning the sticky goo off the seal now. If my body could do a kartwheel, I would be doing it. THANK YOU FOR THIS TIP.
Glad it helped!
